STA: New tax-related market entities increased by 27.3% in the first half of this year

When reporters asked about the development of new tax-related market entities in the first half of this year, Zhao Lianwei answered, the tax data showed that in the first half of this year, the total number of enterprises, individual industrial and commercial households (hereinafter referred to as "newly established tax-related market entities") that went to the tax department to handle tax-related matters such as tax classification identification, receipt of invoices, declaration and tax payment, has reached 6.243 million households, up 27.3% compared with 2020 and 22.8% compared with 2019.

By type, 3.33 million new enterprises were set up, 2.842 million new individual industrial and commercial households were set up, and 78,000 new market entities of other types (such as public institutions and private non-enterprise units) were set up, up 26.8 percent, 28.3 percent and 18 percent respectively.

By ownership, there were 6.171 million newly established private tax-related market entities, an increase of 27.4% compared with the same period in 2020, accounting for 98.9%, and an increase of 0.05 percentage points over the same period in 2020 and 0.47 percentage points over the same period in 2019.

By sector, the service industry and residential service industry grew fast, with year-on-year growth of 73.4% and 70.4% respectively. There were 368,000 new tax-related market entities in the manufacturing sector, lifting 17.31 percent year on year.

New tax-related market entities play an important role in promoting sustainable economic development, conserving tax sources, absorbing employment and maintaining social stability. In the next step, tax authorities will continue to optimize the tax and business environment, further implement the policy of reducing taxes and fees, help new tax-related market players grow and develop rapidly, and promote the formation of a virtuous circle in which the body of new tax-related market players grow, the tax base expands and the economy develops.
