First Chinese taxation teacher training session of the Belt and Road Tax Administration Promotion Alliance recently held
The first teacher training session of the Belt and Road Tax Administration Promotion Alliance was recently held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, and saw the participation of 60 selected and recommended Chinese taxation teachers and professionals from the alliance.
Senior experts from the State Taxation Administration (STA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Development and Reform Commission offered courses focused on the Belt and Road Initiative, macroeconomic and diplomatic situation, economy and taxation and English-teaching skills. The goal was to help trainees improve their professional level and provide a strong foundation for China to promote the Alliance members' taxation capabilities in the future.
The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACʘM) was established in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, in April 2019. A crucial part of BRITACʘM, the Alliance takes responsibility for providing taxation training, organizing academic research and exchanges, enhancing cooperation in tax administration between countries (regions) and achieving win-win cooperation.
The STA attaches great importance to the Chinese taxation teachers' training and has requested a batch of high-quality courses and an international teacher team to share China's taxation experience with the world.
In 2019, through organization recommendation and self-recommendations, the first batch of 37 English-speaking teachers was selected to participate in the first training session. These teachers covered the fields of international taxation, taxation management, tax data risk management, electronic taxation management, taxation services and taxation type management.
Moreover, STA also selected professionals from those taxation fields as alternate teachers to participate in the sessions.
Based on investigations and evaluations of the tax administration level and training needs of the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, the training session focused on tax dispute resolution, modernizing taxation, tax service and VAT reform.
The trainees will devote themselves to the production of online courses that focus on modernizing taxation in the pandemic period and the theme of the second Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF), which will be held in 2021.
